California is where I belong...

Where to begin? Well I've been procrastinating on blogging all week.. and decided right now and 2:20 am I should probably get started. I have SO many details, this might be a long post haha :)

Last Thursday I went to California to see my baby :) AH! It was the best trip ever.. (well second best, I had a pretty good time when I went to see him in Pensacola).
I had a few layovers.. I flew out of Dayton to Chicago, then Chicago to LAX.. where I REALLY wanted to see a famous person, but it didn't happen :/ haha.. my plane was delayed a little but I didn't mind, no rush! From LAX I flew into Carlsbad. It was the most beautiful flight! We didn't go to a very high altitude, and literally.. just flew along the coast line.. it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL to get to see California that way. I took a cab from the airport to my hotel, which wasn't bad at all! Then i got to the resort, It was actually on base in Pendleton, called the Del Mar Beach Resort. Okay, now listen.. if ANY of you military ladies wants a nice place to stay in the southern area of Pendleton, stay at this resort! It was absolutely amazing! We stayed in a luxury villa, which was only $130 a night for Ty. It was literally a house on the beach.. THIS was our view as we walked out the back door....

ah! and the room was incredible.. wood floors, leather couches, 2 flat screens, a fully furnished kitchen.. WE LOVED IT :) we even had our own fire pit on the beach!

He got there from work around 6:30. I had butterflies the whole time waiting for him. No matter how long it's been since i've seen him last, the butterflies always get me! He walked through the door in his cammies and I about died.... hahah he's so handsome, and I just love him so much. We chatted awkwardly for a few minutes, then I went off to change into my special outfit for him ;) and well you can guess how the rest of the night went hahah...
Friday while he was at work, I took a cab to Wal-Mart and bought a few groceries, everyone was SO incredibly friendly, I loved it! Must be the Cali air :) we kinda just hung out Friday night, then Saturday morning, we went to his unit's Christmas party!

It was awesome! I got to meet a bunch of his friends, got to see the helicopters he works on.. (which are SO bad ass by the way) and then Santa flew in on a helicop! ahah I loved it! Christmas is kinda my thing :)
That night his friend Alexander came over with his wife Renee, and their friend Joe.. We all sat around the fire pit and drank wine. It was a pretty good night :)
Sunday morning.. I had to get up super early and was on my way to my flight around 12.... To say I was super rushed was an understatement, lol.. and I really don't feel like going into those details. But overall, I had an amazing weekend with Ty. California is so beautiful and I'm so obsessed with it. I'm convinced I should have been born a California girl! hahah I can't wait to be there for gooooood! :)

I'm so thankful for all the time I get to spend with him. I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have a boyfriend like him. Also, I may be the luckiest girl in the world for seeing him so much! He'll be home tomorrow for TEN WHOLE DAYS! Ah I can't WAITTTTTTTTT to see him again tomorrow. :)))))))

I love you baby!!!!!! See you soooooon!!!! :)

Starting a blog round 2... :)

So back in March while my boyfriend Ty was in boot camp I made an attempt at creating a blog. However it was a complete fail, and I kind of just forgot about it haha, but I think it's an awesome way to meet military s/o's, and record our journey through long distance together. SO guess we'll just start from here :) You'll probably find anything and everything related to a typical Marine girlfriend or military s/o on my blog. (I'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU'RE ONE TOO! :)) So here we go.....

Ty graduated from Parris Island this summer, completed his MOS school and is now stationed out west for the next 2 years. I thank god everyday that he is not a grunt, he's an aircraft mechanic.. with a non-deployable training unit (another reason to thank god everyday).

This is the first time me and Ty have ever really spent any time apart. November 10th 2011, was our 5 year anniversary. We dated all through high school and he's always been 5 minutes away from me.. now he's more than 2,000 miles away. It's hard to believe sometimes. It's also hard to believe that I've only seen my boyfriend for 19 days since he left for boot this past February. Having a Marine boyfriend has definitely been an adventure so far, but I've never been more proud of him in my life. He's a truly amazing man that has accomplished more in the past year, than most people do their entire life.

He didn't get to come home for Thanksgiving, which was actually really sad because his brother was home from Iraq (he's in the Air Force) and his family comes from all over the country to see each other. Last time I saw him was September when he was still in Florida. We tend to fight a lot over the little things when we miss each other a lot.. /: sooooo he bought me a plane ticket to come see him! I'M SOOOO SO SO SOOOO EXCITED to see his face!!!!!!!! I leave Thursday the 8th, and will be back Sunday night :( short but totally worth it. I really can't wait to write all about it, so until then.... :)

My last picture I have from the last time we were together in September :)
